I have been in Guiding for way too long.
After joining Brownies age 9, and then moving up to Guides, I soon became very dedicated to guides. At age 14 I joined Senior Section, but stayed at Guides to help because I didn’t want to leave! A couple of years later, I was asked to help out at the Brownies at our church, and obviously, I was more than happy to, where I began my ALQ!
Fast-forward to the end of year 13, I left sixth form with an offer for uni and a desperation to join Brownies in my new student life. Within two weeks of starting uni, I had contacted our SSAGO (Student Scout and Guide Organisation), been put in touch with division commissioner and had been offered a Brownie Pack, where, after a year, I have just finished my leadership qualification.
Now I’m still an Owl at my Brownies, but I also joined SSAGO this year and enjoy camping with them and pretending to still be kids! I hope to organise a trip with them to Switzerland to go to Our Chalet and Kandesteg (the Scout centre, ew), which I hope will help to prepare me for my Going Away With Qualification with Brownies.
